Important: 23 September 2010: New colo box is up and running.

The hardware this web server runs on was bought with help from my good friends from alt.folklore.urban.

This site is home of my personal domain, xcski.com. I chose this domain name because I used to be an avid cross country ski racer, until degenerative and chronic knee pain (aggravated by the rise of the skating technique in the early 80s) made me stop. Even with the pain, I still managed to win a few races and get my silver Courier du Bois in the Canadian Ski Marathon.

Because I still hold a sentimental attachment to the sports of my past, I am offering to host some cross country skiing, orienteering, canoeing, mountain biking and aviation related mailing lists. If you have such a list and you'd like to host it here, let me know.

Also, if you have a good set of links for any of those activities, send them to me and I'll put them up here as well.

This is my personal domain, but being the geek that I am, it's home to a web server, a news server, a whole bunch of mailing lists, some blogs, and a cranky and tempermental ftp server.

It is home to the following web pages:

Note: I am not interested in giving away my xcski.com domain to any mom-and-pop ski stores. I've invested a lot of time and money in this domain, it's the center of my on-line world and home to many mailing lists, and I'm not planning to give it up unless you really make it worth my while.
